GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â A new patisserie dedicated to authentic French cuisine is now open at Downtown Market Grand Rapids.
Gabyâs Gourmandise, which held a grand opening ceremony on Friday, offers a menu that includes pastries, cakes, quiches and a variety of lunch options, representatives of the downtown market tell us.
Weâre also told two tartines (French topped toasts) are available.

âTraditionally, tartines are a street food in France, meant to be eaten while strolling around,â says Chef Jean-Gabriel (Gaby) Ferrandon. âThey can be topped simply with jam, or with savory and hearty ingredients like the selections on our menu.â

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Gabyâs Gourmandise, an authentic French restaurant, is expected to open at Downtown Market Grand Rapids in early spring.
Chef Jean-Gabriel Ferrandon brings 20 years of experience in the culinary arts to downtown Grand Rapids. Chef Gaby, as he is called, worked at La Tour DâArgent, one of the oldest Parisian restaurants, according to Downtown Market Grand Rapids.
âI have a deep desire to share my love of food with my community,â says Chef Gaby. âI make all of my own doughs from scratch, and I am determined to utilize the freshest and finest ingredients from local sources as much as possible, with a few refined ingredients from France.â
