Youths to get interest-free loans to launch businesses: minister

July 12, 2021 ABBOTTABAD: Provincial Minister for Industries Abdul Karim Khan on Sunday said that interest-free loans were being provided to the youths to launch businesses according to their skills and talents. Speaking as chief guest at the concluding ceremony of three-day National Youth Leadership Conference 2021 here, he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had taken a number of steps for creating a conducive environment for boosting businesses and skill development to enable youths to stand on their own feet. The Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Directorate of Youth Affairs and National Youth Assembly had jointly organised the conference. A large number of youths from across the country participated in the conference and shared their ideas about businesses and skill development. The youths were also apprised of the steps taken for promotion of tourism, Billion Tree Tsunami, interest-free loan for businesses, industry and others.

CM orders factories to be shifted to Mohmand Marble City June 30, 2021 PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to accelerate the shifting of the marble factories from Warsak Road, Malagori and Shabqadar to the newly established Mohmand Marble City (Mohmand Economic Zone). He issued the directives while presiding over the 7th meeting of the Board of Directors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Special Economic Zones Authority (KPSEZA), said a handout. Special Assistant to CM on Industries Abdul Karim Khan and other board members attended the meeting. The board agreed to the proposed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Special Economic Zones Authority and approved submission of the same to the Board of Investment, Islamabad for final approval.

Interest-free schemes to be launched in merged districts

National April 2, 2021 PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday signed an agreement with Akhuwat Foundation to launch interest-free microfinance scheme (IFMS) through which small scale loans up to Rs75,000 would be provided to entrepreneurs in the merged districts. The interest-free loan scheme would consist of revolving fund of Rs1 billion, said a handout, adding, under the said scheme, 25percent quota had been allocated for females, 5pc for special persons and 2pc for transgender persons. A ceremony to this effect was held here at the Chief Minister’s House with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan as chief guest. Special Assistant to chief minister on Industries Abdul Kareem Khan, Secretary Industries Javed Marwat, Chief Executive Officer Akhuwat Foundation Dr. Amjad Saqib and other concerned high ups also attended the ceremony.
