To frustrated parents out there: Kids will get annoyed taking pictures even if there s a duchess behind the camera.
Such was what Kate Middleton revealed during a phone call with Ceri Edwards. Their chat, which was newly shared on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge s YouTube channel, took place in the fall of 2020 and is one of several Middleton had with finalists of the National Portrait Gallery s Hold Still exhibition, which she spearheaded as patron. Featuring 100 final portraits, the exhibition was meant to capture the U.K. during its first lockdown. Edwards touching portrait of her daughter Poppy hugging her dad before he headed to work as a paramedic during the coronavirus pandemic made the cut.

On Thursday, the Duchess of Cambridge met with Mila Sneddon at the Palace of Holyroodhouse months after the 5-year-old participated in the royal’s Hold Still program.
The two spoke on the phone in August of last year when the 39-year-old learned that the little girl’s favorite color is pink. The royal promised Sneddon that she would wear a pink dress whenever they met.
And Middleton made good on her word.
In a video posted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s social media account, Middleton wore a bubblegum-hued dress for their special meeting.
Kate Middleton went for straight-up regal vibes today during the last day of her Scotland tour with Prince William. The Duchess wore two princess-esque looks and four outfits total.
