Apr 5, 2021 A couple visiting an art gallery in South Korea March 28th accidentally vandalized a painting worth $440,000 after thinking the piece was an interactive experience. The couple noticed some paint cans and brushes on display near American graffiti artist JonOne s painting and thought it was an invitation to add their own flair to the piece. Security cameras caught the couple splattering green paint onto the nearly half-million dollar painting. After they were arrested, the exhibit s boss said the gallery wouldn t press charges since they thought they were allowed to do that as participatory art and made a mistake. The exhibit now has a barrier and sign that reads Do not touch in front of it. The gallery is waiting to see if JonOne wants address the contributions of the two freelance artists.
