Approximately 100 needy veterans once employed by a Pierce County-based charity are set to be paid back-wages due them. The employees
went without pay for weeks at a time in 2018 and 2019 as the leader of the organization, an Army veteran herself, embezzled money from the charity for personal gain, according to court documents.
“We want to look forward. This is a new start for us,” said Army veteran Scott Schulz, 60, of Tacoma. Schulz has relied on gainful employment at the Veterans Independent Enterprises of Washington (VIEW) for 25 years, but fell on uncertain times when the paychecks were late or non-existent.

One event was billed as the largest armed protest ever to take place on American soil, another aims to memorialize Ashli Babbitt, and another would involve insurrectionists forming a perimeter around the Capitol, the White House and the Supreme Court, and then blocking Democrats from entering the Capitol ― perhaps even killing them ― so that Republicans could take control of the government.

Jennifer Shomer, 55, and a friend were traveling between resorts on a trip in February 2019 when the crash happened. I won t get too much into the extent of her injuries, but I will tell you that the Uber car was T-boned by a car traveling about 55 mph, her attorney, Spencer Freeman, said via email. It was a severe impact that knocked out two of the three occupants of the Uber car. . I can tell you that had Ms. Shomer known that the existence/presence of Uber in Cabo was causing confrontations with the taxi service, she never would have used her Uber App to get a ride.
