Former director of central Pa. nonprofit group sentenced for embezzling

The former director of the Perry County Family Center has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for embezzling more than $150,000, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Bruce D. Brandler of the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
U.S. District Court Judge Sylvia H. Rambo sentenced Shelley A. Dreyer-Aurila, 55, of New Bloomfield to the prison term on April 28 at the court in Harrisburg. Dreyer-Aurila was also ordered to pay $127,764 in restitution. She had already repaid $22,520.
Dreyer-Aurila, former executive director of the nonprofit Perry County Family Center, plead guilty to the embezzlement charge in October 2019. She admitted to taking the money between 2010 and 2017 for her own uses. The indictment originally charged her with stealing more than $200,000. The Crosslake Ideal Lions Club is working on upcoming programs, including the Lions Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 12, at Moonlite Bay in memory of Bob Ayd and Joe Doerfler, the tournament founders.
Registration packets will be sent to past contestants.
Peach sales will be held at the end of August. The exact time is determined by the natural ripening process. The last sale sold out in 12 hours and more than 200 individuals requested notification about the next sale. Notifications will go out three days before the peaches arrive from Colorado. Flyers will also be at local establishments.

The Crosslake Ideal Lions are holding a diaper drive.
The public is asked to buy children s diapers and/or disposable wipes and drop them off at any one of the various locations throughout the area, including Reed s Market in Crosslake, Old Milwaukee Club in Ideal Corners, Pelican Square in Breezy Point, Crosslake City Hall, Little People Learning Center in Breezy Point, Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake, and the Crosslake Community Center.
Items will be accepted from Thursday, April 15-Friday, April 30. All donations will benefit the Mid-Minnesota Women’s Center in Brainerd and the Tri-County Community Action Partnership.
