Vincent has been fundraising for Reverse Rett A devoted father has raised thousands of pounds in a desperate bid to find a cure for his daughter s rare disorder. Vincent Johnsson, whose daughter Hannah suffers from Rett Syndrome, has been running at least 5km a day to raise money for a charity on behalf of his daughter. The rare condition has caused his daughter to lose almost all of her mobility, her speech and her independent skills. And has left brave Hannah with seizures, scoliosis, a heart condition and extreme breathing irregularities. Vincent has now completed his 500-day run and will donate money to charity Reverse Rett - which he says will help contribute to a possible cure for the condition.

Just before his daughter s third birthday, in February 2010, Hannah was diagnosed with postnatal neurological disorder Rett Syndrome. Ten years later, she has lost almost all her mobility, all her speech, most of her hand function and all her independent skills, said Vincent. Nina McKinney has challenged herself to climb North Berwick Law everyday in February to raise money for the charity Reverse Rett.
She is a keen rugby, hockey and football player, and wants nothing more than for her sister to be able to join in the fun.
On her Just Giving page, Nina wrote: “I want to raise money to give to the scientists and doctors so they can help my sister so she can play with us.
“My sister can’t climb the Law herself, and she can’t talk, walk very well or use her hands and she takes medicines for epilepsy.”

A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl has set herself the challenge of climbing North Berwick Law every day in February for a charity that supports her older sister. Nina McKinney is a primary three pupil at Law Primary School and lives in North Berwick with mum Catherine, dad Ross and siblings Angus, 11, Eliza, nine, and Felix, aged four. She is being joined mostly by her mum and sometimes other members of her family and, with a lot of offers from friends, is making the trek with a different person most days. Nina is raising money for Reverse Rett, a charity that aims to change the lives of children and adults with Rett Syndrome, as well as support medical research for treatments and a cure.
