Jessie from Canberra has a filthy confession.
“Until a few years ago, I was a last minute voter,” she told us. “I think I even missed voting a couple of times and I just felt bad about it, so the last couple of years I’ve changed.”
To some, the idea that a red-blooded Australian citizen with two ears and a smartphone should somehow miss literally the only important date in any calendar year is unthinkable. To others? Jessie’s story is uncomfortably familiar.
But Jessie’s a success story - someone who not just made the system work for her, but who excels in it. In 2020, she scooped the title of our very first Hottest 100 voter. So how did she get back on track?
