BECOMING an undisputed world champion is a difficult thing to do – especially in this day and age. Not only do you have to get into the ring and actually win the titles, but in the meantime you also have to keep four separate sanctioning bodies happy. The WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO each have mandatory challengers for their belts, and there comes a time when these obligations have to be fulfilled by their champions.

Unbeaten British super middleweight Zach Parker, who secured WBO mandatory challenger status last March, has officially joined forces with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

The 26-year-old Parker (19-0, 13 KO) has struggled with inactivity, fighting just twice since a 2018 British title-winning split decision over Darryll Williams in which he injured his shoulder early and subsequently required surgery. His sole 2019 effort saw him wipe out Steven Crambert, after which he stopped Rohan Murdock in a final eliminator on the Jono Carroll-Scott Quigg undercard.
