A WEYMOUTH campsite has been rated as the top campsite in the UK. New research has ranked the top 10 camping hotspots in the country and Higher Moor Farm in Dorset has taken the top spot. The campsite was also found to be the most Instagrammable - with the site being tagged a total of 943 times by users on the social media site. The research was conducted by motorhome rental company, Camptoo, which ranked UK campsites on popularity, weather, air quality and nearby landmarks. Higher Moor Farm is an award winning, family orientated campsite located in the village of Nottington. It caters for tents, caravans and and motorhomes as well as offering boutique camping pods and lodges.
A ‘STARK’ toilet and shower block at a Buckland Ripers summer-only campsite will be allowed to remain all year, subject to conditions. The owners will have to change it from white to green, add to hedges and trees to shield it from view, and make a suitable access for people with disabilities. They will also have to draw up a biodiversity plan and actions to limit the effect on wildlife. Dorset councillors have approved the year-round application despite being told that the site owners had failed to comply with most of the conditions about the block after the 45-space camping site had been granted permission for use from June to September in 2019.
