LAGRANGE â When Tharon Morgan learned sheâd been hired as LaGrange Countyâs new highway department engineer, she said she felt like she was coming home. Morgan, a civil engineer, is a 2010 graduate of Prairie Heights High School and a 2013 graduate of Trine University. In the years since she graduated from college, she worked as both a land surveyor and as a staff engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation in Fort Wayne. The highway department engineerâs job, she said, is the best of both those worlds. Morgan was hired earlier this month, filling a job that sat vacant for nearly two years. Her duties include helping to design new road rebuilding projects, helping to oversee the countyâs bridge projects and act as a liaison between the county and the stateâs transportation department. ....

The candidate filing period for the April election in Missouri closes Tuesday for positions coming open on Ozark County school and municipal boards, as well as Public Water District #1 in Theodosia and the Ozark County Ambulance District. No terms are expiring on the Ozark County Health Department board. The last day to register to vote in the April election is March 10. LAGRANGE â The LaGrange County Commissioners spent a little time Monday morning at their first meeting of 2021 doing a little housekeeping, reorganizing their board. Newly elected Commissioner Kevin Myers was named the boardâs new vice president, replacing Commissioner Terry Martin in that position who was named the boardâs president at the commissionerâs last meeting of 2020. Myers is serving on the Board of Commissioners for the second time, having defeated former Commissioner Dennis Kratz in the June Republican primary. Myers served on the board of commissioners for 15 months after being appointed to finish the final 15 months of former Commissioner Jac Priceâs term in office. Price died in office in 2015. ....
