As lockdowns continue in Ontario, Change.org has seen a rise in the number of new petitions focused on pet grooming services. Over 14,500 signatures have been collected over five independent petitions.
The largest petition, which has over 14,000 signers, is calling on the provincial government to allow pet grooming businesses to reopen. Frustrated with the lack of clarity on business restrictions, the petition starter Janis Leonard writes, âThere was a widespread misunderstanding based on the posted legislation and media interpretation that this service would be available. It was only recently announced that this is not the case. Make this right.â
The starter of a petition with over 5,000 signatures, is also concerned that untrained people might attempt to groom their pets and unintentionally cause injury. Derrick Zuber says, âMost pet owners are not equipped to provide this basic grooming care for their own animals and risk injury to themselves (getting bitten or sc
