Lubbock Police Chief Floyd Mitchell has been sworn in as the Secretary of the Texas Police Chiefs Association.
The swearing in happened during the 62nd Annual Texas Police Chiefs Conference of 2021 in Fort Worth.
The announcement was made on Twitter by both Floyd Mitchell himself and the Lubbock Police Department:
Mitchell was appointed the Lubbock Police Chief back in November of 2019, and leads a staff of over 500 law enforcement and civilian members.
According to texaspolicechiefs.org, the TPCA was founding in 1958 to advance the professional development of Chiefs of Police and senior police management personnel through the State. The Association is a law enforcement administrator s organization that concerns itself with all issues involving the criminal justice system. Through the TPCA, issues affecting this system can be addressed with elected officials and even the state legislature.
