Service NSW app outage knocks QR code check-ins offline

By Justin Hendry on Mar 11, 2021 4:26PM Digital driver licence access also impacted. Service NSW experienced a widespread outage of its mobile app on Thursday that prevented citizens from checking into businesses and accessing the digital driver licence for four hours. The problems emerged just after 2:00pm AEDT on Thursday, with users reporting difficulties accessing the in-app CovidSafe check-in tool. Under rules introduced in January, NSW residents are required to log their attendance at venues by scanning a QR code using the tool. The information is used by NSW Health officials for contact tracing. Hugops to @ServiceNSW digital teams cos it’s clearly been “a week”.

Free $100 Dine and Discover vouchers in use NOW - how to get them and where to spend them

The New South Wales government s Dine & Discover scheme, gifting $100 for spending on eating out and entertainment, begins today - but only 500 people will get their hands on the vouchers.  The $500 million stimulus program kicked off with a testing phase that allowed 500 people to spend their four vouchers with eligible businesses in The Rocks tourist area in Sydney and in Broken Hill. A second and larger pilot will happen in Sydney s CBD, on Sydney s Northern Beaches and in the Bega Valley from late February. Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café at The Rocks in Sydney is one of the businesses accepting vouchers  in the test phase of the NSW Government s new Dine & Discover scheme
