Due to the multiple fires recently responded to by Regional Fire Service related to risky burning practices, rapidly changing fire conditions and with forecasts of dry and windy conditions, County Fire is recommending that you not burn until conditions improve.
Conditions in the Grande Prairie Forest Protection Area are at High and Alberta Wildfire has issued an Advisory.
Fire Chief Dan Verdun suggests that you not burn unless you absolutely must or until we see some precipitation and conditions improve.
“We are not imposing an Advisory or Ban, we are simply asking the public to be aware of the dangerous fire conditions and only burn if you have to, or in approved pits while following all the conditions of a permit,” said Verdun.
