A 21-year-old Ubly man was arrested after reportedly leading sheriff s deputies on a chase that spanned two counties June 2.
According to a press release from Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, dispatch received a call around 4 a.m. in Ubly about a man who was in a physical altercation with his mother. Hanson said Deputy Gabe Callendar was nearby but the man was able to flee the scene in a Dodge Avenger as dispatch was taking the call.

Josh Topham died from injuries he sustained while working at a residence in Caro May 17.
Caro Police Chief Brian Newcomb said Topham, 39, was a volunteer Mayville firefighter and the owner of a seamless gutter company and was working with his crew when he got tangled up and fell. Newcomb estimated Topham s fall was more than 30 feet.
Newcomb said Caro Police Department was assisted on scene by Caro Fire Department, Tuscola County Sheriff s Office and MMR.
Newcomb said emergency personnel provided lifesaving measures and attempted to airlift Topham to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
