340kg unexploded bomb safely removed from neighborhood in northern Vietnam

Military officers in the northern Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc have finished moving a 340-kilogram bomb away from a residential area. The Vinh Phuc Military Command coordinated with local authorities to remove the unexploded bomb in Khai Quang Ward, Vinh Yen City on Sunday morning, an official from the ward’s administration confirmed later the same day. The bomb was previously found by construction workers as they were digging the foundation to build a house at 67 Ton Duc Thang Street on April 20.

The house, located at 311 Ton Duc Thang Street in Dong Da District, began catching fire at around 1:00 am, when the victims were sleeping. Firefighting police officers arrived at the location shortly after being notified, but all four people inside the house were already dead.
