Dr Malav Shroff elected unopposed as Asian Sailing President

- Lukman Abu Bakar (MAS) Lim, Secretary General congratulated Dr. Shroff on being returned as ASAF President and wished him the very best for his tenure. Dr. Shroff thanked all MNAs present at the AGM, and for voting in encouraging numbers. He further underlined his vision for ASAF for the next 4 years, as follows: 1. Help more countries develop stronger programs for sailing 2. Increase female participation in Asia in sailing, coaching and technical officials 3. Increase regional events and get more participation from all countries 4. Develop Asian Centers of development and Excellence in various parts of emerging Asia to help more countries grow the sport of sailing.

Tong holds a Masters of Fine Art in Cinematography from the New York Film Academy. – PICTURE COURTESY OF OSCAR TONG BEFORE getting into film, Oscar Tong had music etched in his mind. “I love music,” was his first response when asked how he got into filmmaking. “I wanted to study music after high school but my parents said no. A friend recommended that I study Mass Communication because one of the modules was audio production, in addition to film study and photography class, in which we also had to produce videos.” In those four years at university, Tong interned at television station TV3 and at a local film production house, AC Creations Media, before co-founding a video production company, Untitled Films, with three close friends.
