P-Plater debate at Teewah fires up after weekend crash

The petition was started by Simon McDonald, who got fed up with dangerous P-plater behaviour on the beach last year, but has failed to reach its target of 2500 signatures. Another serious accident involving P-Platers at Teewah over the weekend has reignited the debate on Facebook. Two teenagers had to be airlifted following the weekend crash. The petition says P-platers are ruining the privilege of driving on the beach for everyone, and only drivers with an Open licence should be allowed to do it.

Photo: Frances Klein Just one kilometre from the sawmill the truck left the road and rolled - landing upside down on the steep embankment that drops down to Yabba Creek. The driver is thought to have died on impact, Senior Constable Greer said. The cab of the truck was crushed and the man remained trapped for hours before emergency crews could access the cabin, which was upside down halfway down the bank.

Woman hospitalised after Gympie CBD crash

Premium Content Subscriber only A WOMAN was taken to Gympie Hospital today following a two-vechile crash on Duke and Jane St just before 1pm. A second person was involved in the crash but was not taken to hospital, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said. The woman suffered minor injuries and was in a stable condition when transported. It follows a string of crashes over the weekend including two yesterday. On Friday night one person was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a single vehicle crash at Imbil just after 6pm.
