Jackson man sentenced to prison for stabbing

JACKSON, MI – A Jackson man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine.
John Holubowicz, 42, was sentenced Feb. 25 by Jackson County Circuit Judge Thomas Wilson. He will serve three years and six months to 10 years in prison for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine and he has credit for time served for charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence.
Holubowicz was originally charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, before pleading guilty to aggravated assault Oct. 20. The charges stem from an Aug. 22 incident where he stabbed a man multiple times in his upper torso. The man was released from Henry Ford Allegiance Health after treatment.
