Updated: 8:02 AM CST Mar 11, 2021 KOCO Staff An Oklahoma City nurse started a unique business that offers different backgrounds for people to take selfies.Jennifer Parrott, owner of Selfie City at Quail Springs Mall, said the store offers 18 different creative backdrops, and there is currently no time limit.Parrott said that they ask the customers to wear a mask due to the COVID-19 pandemic; however, they can take the mask off while taking photos. Staff are also sanitizing the equipment to ensure safety. Parrott said she works three days a week in the emergency room as a nurse and spends the rest of the week at her new business.“I’m enjoying it. Since we are new, we just opened. I really want to be here to get feedback from people, see how people are taking it, the things they are wanting from us,” Parrott said.Parrott said the store also provides ring lights that connect to customers’ phones via Bluetooth. Whatever we might tell others, the vast majority of us care what people think of us. Caring about our reputations is a very natural and human thing to do. So we want to look our best. Both in real-life and in photos. If we look good, we can impress others, and reap those sweet, sweet social rewards!
