A homeless alcoholic sent on a spending spree with stolen bank cards has been jailed.
Simon Selman told police he knew nothing about a burglary in which the cards were taken.

Miles Eglin, 53, was accused by a Swindon judge of turning a blind eye and failing to do the proper checks to make easy money. At the time he was at risk of losing his £1m home. But after hearing the Melksham man was a carer for his father, who has cancer, Judge Jason Taylor QC suspended the six month jail sentence for 18 months. Prosecutor Susan Cavender had earlier told the court police pulled over a Ford Fiesta in the car park of Trowbridge’s Tesco Extra on August 19 last year, believing it was being driven on false plates.

The program helps organizations and property owners reduce fire danger and has been funded by the Secure Rural Schools payments.
She said she had been the âgo-toâ about anything that has to do with fire prevention in Grant County.
In February, she said, Oregon Fire Prevention invited her to give a presentation about how Grant County has successfully established Firewise in various communities throughout the county. She said the group was impressed, given the challenges with being geographically spread out.
She said the Firewise program, like everything else in 2020, has been affected by the pandemic.
A “COMPLETE and utter animal” has been jailed for “biting a chunk” from his mother’s face and stamping on his pregnant girlfriend’s head. Owen Alan Ackers, 23, of Lineside, Burton, was sentenced for causing grievous bodily harm with intent on his mother, Diane Ackers, and then-girlfriend Sapphire Bassett at Bournemouth Crown Court on December 21. She hid one bottle of vodka and tired to take another bottle away from him.
