Assault with pick-axe
A 3 a.m. argument Tuesday between two men at a residence in the 1100 block of Hobson Street scared a female inhabitant enough that she called the police and asked them to come right away.
When officers arrived, they were told Jeremy James Prishmont, 31, of Butte had told an unidentified 37-year-old man to leave the residence.
When he refused, Prishmont, with a pick-axe in hand, allegedly hit the man in the head, face and torso.
According to the police report, the injuries were not serious.
Prishmont was jailed for felony assault with a weapon and partner or family member assault (reasonable apprehension).
Small Basement Fire Gives The Olde Heritage a Scare
As if 2020 hasn t been challenging enough for restaurants, The Old Heritage Tavern had a small basement fire during operating hours, forcing customers and tenants to vacate the premises.
The popular Lenox eatery had a scare Saturday night when the main electrical service into the building, which houses the restaurants as well as tenants, shorted out and started a small fire in our basement. Smoke quickly took over the restaurant and caused multiple things to shut down. Tenants and customers evacuated the building and the Lenox Fire Department was able to identify the problem quickly.
STOCKBRIDGE â For âFather Sam,â as the rector at St. Paulâs Episcopal Church is known, this season of pandemic gloom and anxiety calls for transformation into a time of prayerful hope.
To lift community spirits, the landmark 1884 church across from the Red Lion Inn on Norman Rockwellâs iconic Main Street, will host several public and virtual events, the Rev. Sam Smith explained by phone.
St. Paulâs Tree of Hope, planted in the churchyard, has already attracted nearly 50 uplifting messages now hanging on star-shaped ornaments. Since there are at least 100 stars, Smith pointed out, thereâs space for more written contributions from the public, which can be left inside the church through Christmas Day.
