ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. The City of South Bend’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is hosting its first Small Business Launch Pad event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Charles Black Community Center.
This event is to celebrate the resilience of small, local businesses and the hardships they faced throughout the 2020 year.
“The Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s ongoing investment black-, women-, and minority-owned businesses will have an impact that lasts long after this event. That’s why the title Launch Pad is so appropriate for the work being done,” said Michael Patton, a Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the City of South Bend.

SOUTH BEND COVID-19 vaccines will be made available at St. Joseph Medical Group doctors offices beginning next month, while several new vaccination clinics have been scheduled in South Bend for this week.
St. Joseph Health system announced Monday that COVID vaccinations will be provided at Saint Joseph Medical Group locations throughout the area beginning on June 5. In a news release, people seeking COVID-19 vaccines through St. Joseph Medical Group doctors are asked to call their local doctor s office to schedule an appointment.
In addition, St. Joseph Health System announced that COVID-19 testing in Saint Joseph County and Marshall counties will transition to other providers on June 23. Anyone needing a test can visit coronavirus.in.gov/2524.htm for testing locations.
Summer SkateJam at Century Center Tuesday By: Maura Johnson
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Charles Black Community Center and South Bend Venues Parks & Arts are hosting a family skating event Tuesday evening to kick off summer!
“Roll into Summer SkateJam” will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Convention Hall of the Century Center.
Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased here.
Participants are asked to bring their own skates for the event.
