Inmate gets six-month sentence for assaulting, threatening jail guards

“And that there will be consequences,” the Sarnia judge said Friday. The court heard two guards tried moving Walker to an isolated area of the Christina Street North jail around 11 a.m. on Christmas Eve after he started causing a scene in his cell. During the move Walker threatened to “knock out” one of the guards. He also initially flouted COVID-19 protocols by refusing to wear a mask. The staff eventually brought him to a private room, but another inmate was there so a guard placed her arm against Walker’s back to keep him from “engaging” with the other person. Walker used vulgar language while telling the guard to not touch him.
