SC judge says registrar is misusing his power; circumventing due process of law

Justice Qazi Faez Isa has once again called into question the conduct of the Supreme Court registrar office and accused it of not listing cases on time to benefit “the other side”. Every act of the registrar benefits the other side or those aligned with them,” said an application submitted by the Supreme Court judge and his wife Sarina Isa after their review petitions against the apex court’s June 19, 2020 order were not placed for hearing on Wednesday before a 10-judge bench.
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court in a 6-4 verdict dismissed Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s application through which he had urged the court to live stream proceedings of the court hearing of his review petition against the SC judgment on the presidential reference.
A 10-member larger bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, and comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, and Justice Aminud Din Khan, on Tuesday, announced the order, which it had reserved on March 18th.
Justice Bandial, who wrote the majority order, stated that the reasons will be recorded later. The order said the right of the people to have access to information in matters of public importance under Article 19-A of the Constitution is recognised, the details and modalities of which are to be decided by the Full Court on the administrative side.

Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa alleged on Thursday that former chief justice Asif Saeed Khosa had betrayed him and stabbed him in the back.
Justice Isa made the remarks during a hearing of the review petitions filed against the June 19, 2020, apex court judgement about the presidential reference against him. Justice Umar Ata Bandial presided over the 10-judge SC bench which conducted the hearing. The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has murdered justice, Justice Isa said, adding that President Dr Arif Alvi did not bother to reply to three letters of his and that he hadn t even received a copy of the presidential reference filed against him.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday dismissed a petition, filed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, seeking live broadcast of his review petition proceedings.
However, the apex court recognised people’s right to have access to information in matters of public importance, under Article 19-A of the Constitution. A 10-member larger bench, headed by Justice Umer Ata Bandial, announced the verdict earlier reserved on March 18.
Other members of the bench include Justice Maqbool Baqir, Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik, Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, and Justice Aminuddin Khan.
