CPA has completed the procurement activities for the P500-million port project and received approval from the Cebu Port Commission during its regular board meeting on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. CPA General Manager Leonilo Miole said that CPA will issue the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed and sign the contract to immediately start the groundwork and construction before the end of March 2021. Hadley mulls CPA funds for historic cemeteries, rental aid and preserving farmland FILE PHOTO HADLEY Enhancing historic cemeteries, providing emergency rental assistance for residents and preserving farmland are among projects that could be paid for through Community Preservation Act money this year. The CPA Committee recently recommended $292,000 in projects for annual Town Meeting to consider in May, with the bulk of the money going toward cemetery work and the rental assistance program. Those projects were originally brought to a Special Town Meeting last fall, but that session ended before the articles were taken up. The CPA account is built from a 3% surcharge on property tax bills that is matched by a contribution from the state. ....

Status of 2021 UCI Road International Calendar 02/19/21 The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and representatives of professional road cycling’s principal families –organisers (AIOCC), teams (AIGCP) and riders (CPA) – met yesterday for a video conference organised by the Federation, to discuss the current status of the 2021 UCI International Road Calendar in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The participants hailed the fact that the 2021 road season has started, and that several high-level events are taking place thanks to the implementation and respect of extremely strict and effective sanitary protocols. As of today, 38 events have been cancelled in 2021 at men’s and women’s professional level (Class 1 and above). While some of these are definitively cancelled and will not take place before 2022, others have requested to be rescheduled to a later date in 2021. This is the case of 24 events.
