North Dakota Corn Growers seeks candidates from Dickey, LaMoure counties for board of directors The four-year term will begin July 1, 2021, and up to two consecutive 4-year terms may be served.  7:03 pm, Feb. 25, 2021 × The North Dakota Corn Growers Association is seeking candidates to fill an opening on its board of directors for District 6. Board members represent the districts in which they live by influencing policy that affects North Dakota corn producers. District 6 consists of Dickey and LaMoure counties. The four-year term will begin July 1, 2021, and up to two consecutive 4-year terms may be served. The volunteer representative will replace outgoing board member Bart Schott of Kulm whose final term will expire on June 30. Schott has also served as president of the National Corn Growers Association.

 FARGO, North Dakota The North Dakota Corn Growers Association added Corey McGillis of HUB International Insurance to its board of directors as an industry representative. McGillis’ interest in joining the board included being able to actively participate in advocating for growers and everyone who benefits from corn.  He said that a top priority of his will be emphasizing the importance of having a strong risk management program to protect growers who take large risks growing corn in the state. With over 20 years of experience in the crop insurance industry, as well as a family farming background, McGillis has worked extensively with growers and promoting commodities like corn.  “We are fortunate to have Corey’s risk management expertise among us and look forward to all that he brings to the table to advance corn in our state,” said NDCGA President Rob Hanson.

Monolith Materials proposes $1B expansion of Olive Creek power facility in Nebraska

Daily Energy Insider Published on January 06, 2021 by Dave Kovaleski © Monolith Materials Monolith Materials has proposed a $1 billion expansion of its Olive Creek facility (OC2) near Hallam, Neb., a project that is expected to generate 2 million megawatt-hours of renewable wind and solar energy each year. The project was announced this week by officials from Monolith Materials, along with representatives from the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) and the Norris Public Power District. Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts was also on hand. NPPD will solicit bids for the project through a request for proposals (RFP) for new wind or solar generation, including energy storage, through a Power Purchase Agreement, NPPD President and CEO Tom Kent said. The RFP will be issued in March.
