The first part in what is an exciting project for Lorain kicked off Dec. 19, as shore on the west side of Lakeview Park was drilled to essentially test the foundation of where a future pier could be constructed. âThe first part was getting the money for the core sample (initial drilling) and then we will be moving forward,â said Rob Levit, board member for the Rotary Club of Lorain, who had the original idea for the project. âMoney for the core sample drilling today, and the next couple of days, was from money raised by Lorain Rotary, Polish Fishermanâs Club, The Community Foundation of Lorain County, Northwest Bank and State of Ohio Capital Budget via Nathan Manning.â ....
