A LOCAL writer and award-winning photographer has released a stunning book featuring photography of a much-celebrated Lake District village. Bill Birkett’s ‘The Grasmere Yearbook’ follows Grasmere’s changing seasons, showcasing the Lakeland village’s beauty in 240 pages, which has inspired famous artists and writers for over two hundred years. “It’s principally a photographic book and covers all the four seasons,” said Mr Birkett. “I come from Little Langdale, but I moved to Grasmere in 2015, so I was inspired by the new landscape and just had in my mind to do a photo book.” Printed at MTP Media of Kendal, the book is a personal photographic diary extending from lakeshore, through village, wood, and meadow, to the high fell tops.
