£500 is available for projects involving young people

Youth groups and schools are being asked to come forward with ideas for projects. Cumbria Youth Alliance has funding available from Robin Rigg Community Fund. They can give out £500 per project. It is primarily to address environmental improvement work at coastal locations in West Cumbria. Past examples of projects include LED house lights at Carnegie Theatre Trust and supporting advice, guidance and outreach services for West Cumbria Society for the Blind. All project ideas are welcomed for work along the West Cumbrian coast, from Silloth to St Bees - as long as young people are involved. To discuss ideas further, or for more information, contact Juan Shimmin at juan@cya.org.uk or call 01900 603131.

The society has also distributed baskets of fruit to people who live alone and are unable to leave their homes, to alleviate loneliness.
