April 03, 2021 THE Cebu Provincial Government will continue to promote its flagship “Suroy-Suroy Sugbo” to Luzon-based tourists even though the National Capital Region (NCR) and other neighboring areas are currently under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) status.
Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia told reporters that she wants to offer the same airfare for tourists living in Luzon, particularly those who plan to fly to Cebu via the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
Garcia said the offer was made following discussions with officials of the Department of Tourism on how the Province can further attract more tourists from Luzon and help revitalize local tourism in Cebu.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 26) The rehabilitation of Ninoy Aquino International Airport has hit another dead end after airport authorities denied Megawide Construction Corporation’s formal appeal to regain its original proponent status for the project.
“The Consortium was formally informed of the said denial through a letter from the Corporate Secretary of the MIAA Board of Directors dated 25 January 2021,” the conglomerate, who has paired up with Indian firm GMR Infrastructure, told the local bourse in a disclosure Tuesday.
This is the latest setback in the rehabilitation of the country’s busiest gateway, with negotiations between the government and different conglomerates hitting a dead end throughout the years.
