Blue Moon Country Bar & Patio and Social Bar & Grill, both on Laredo’s north side, will be forced to close temporarily. Because Laredo’s COVID-19 hospitalization rate has been above 15% for some time, local businesses cannot exceed 50% occupancy, per the state’s orders. And in order for bars to operate, more than half of their sales need to be from food. Furthermore patrons must wear masks when they leave their table, no one is allowed to sit or order at the bar and tables must be six feet apart.
