The budding cannabis industry continues to draw interest and funding from celebrities and professional athletes alike.
Jaleel White, the actor known for portraying Steve Urkel in the 1990s sitcom Family Matters, is putting his name behind the cannabis brand Purple Urkle, which is set to hit shelves in California on April 20 Forbes reported. White, who is partnering with California cannabis grower 710 Labs to make a brand of marijuana called itsPurpl, explained his interest in selling cannabis in a letter on his website.

In 1941, folk singer and songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie was born on the Piapot Reserve near Regina. She s among the best-known of contemporary folk singers, attaining international success in the 1960s with such songs as Until It s Time For You To Go and Universal Soldier. Donovan s 1965 hit recording of Universal Soldier led many people to believe it was his composition, but Sainte-Marie had written the song while appearing at Toronto s Purple Onion coffee house. Now after a successful limited launch last fall, the cannabis connoisseur has announced that his INDOGGO Gin is now available across the country. INDOGGO mixes seven premium botanicals infused with all-natural strawberry flavor.
“I am so proud and humbled by the response INDOGGO has received since its introduction,” said Snoop Dogg in a written statement. “I knew that we had created a great tasting, smooth gin, but to see the response on social media, and get the stamp of approval from my friend Martha Stewart I knew we had a winner!”
