TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - FEMA is sending two mobile vaccination units and staff to Pima County to help distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.
The mobile operations begin May 3 and run through June 26, according to a news release from the Pima County Health Department.
Each walk-up site will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and offer both the Modera and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Palm Springs police detained two men as part of an investigation into a drive-by shooting Thursday morning.
About 10 a.m., police received a call of a shooting near Sunny Dunes Road and Calle Santa Cruz. Officers “flooded the area” and found the men in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo at Sunny Dunes and Williams Road about 10:15 a.m., Sgt Mike Casavan said.
A handgun was recovered and police are investigating if a shot was fired in the air or at a building, he said.
No injuries were reported.
All police activity was confined to the area of Sunny Dunes and Williams and the scene was cleared just after 11 a.m.
