The Stark County Health Department will begin vaccinating the new age group as soon as the Ohio Department of Health gives the go-ahead. That s expected to be any day now, said Kay Conley, director of administration and support services at the county agency.
Stark County has vaccinated a number of 16 and 17 year olds at recent clinics, including those this week set at outlying schools in the county, she said. We’ve had a number of calls from parents asking when they can schedule their child for their vaccination, Conley said.
How to get the jab
Right now, only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for people under 18.

A habitual offender second offense notice was added to the charges which enhance the sentence on the primary offense by 1.5 times.

As Stark County school districts prepare to get the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, many districts have announced plans to cancel classes or temporarily move to online learning.
Officials fear staff members could experience side effects, prompting them to call off and leave schools without the necessary staff to conduct a school day.
Massillon City Schools released its plan last week. Staff at Washington High School, the administrative office including preschool staff and transportation employees, are set to get their second dose on March 1 from the Massillon City Health Department.
Massillon students will have classes March 1 but all students will move to remote learning the rest of the week. Throughout the month, individual school buildings will move to remote learning after building staff gets their second dose.
