The Marketing Achievement Awards (MAAs) has announced the finalists for the 2020/21 Marketer of the Year Award.

The individuals who have promoted the value of marketing in driving strategy and business growth and propelled constant improvements within the discipline.
The search for Marketer of the Year candidates involves a stringent process, beginning with inviting all marketers, entrepreneurs, and organisations from around South Africa to nominate their peers. Dan Berkowitz to judge on Grand Jury for the NYF Advertising Awards
HaveYouHeard group executive creative director, Dan Berkowitz, has been appointed as a judge for the 2021 New York Festivals Advertising Awards.
Dan BerkowitzCelebrating the exceptional and innovative content being created today, the New York Festivals runs six international awards competitions to honour and recognise the world’s best work across six different creative fields. They are the Advertising Awards, the Radio Awards, the TV & Film Awards, Bowery Awards, Global Awards and AMEA Awards.
Berkowitz, whose first job was to launch Hyground alongside South African advertising legends Brian Searle-Tripp and Bob Rightford, moved to London in 2007 and spent the year freelancing to fund his lust for attending a different live gig every night.
CARMEL College has paid tribute to a much-loved tutor who sadly died over the new year. Gavin Whitfield was described as a talented man who brought a smile to the face of anyone who met him. A keen musician and footballer, he passed away on January 2. Posting on social media, the college said: “We are deeply saddened to bring you the news that our dear friend and colleague, Gavin Whitfield, passed away on January 2. “Gav was a talented man; not only was he a great tutor, he was a guitarist, pianist, writer, DJ and loved to play football.
