SFUSD Board approves short-term budget for 2021-22
July 8, 2021
All San Francisco Unified School District schools will be fully open Aug. 16, 2021, and will experience a significant boost from a $75.8 million Public Education Enrichment Fund (PEEF). A chunk of these federal monies will guarantee that every SFUSD school has a library and a credentialed librarian, and every student has access to a nurse or social worker. SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Vincent Matthews announced Monday that he would postpone his retirement to June 2022.
In March, Matthews announced plans to retire July 30 of this year but decided to stay for another year following discussions with the San Francisco Board of Education President Gabriela Lopez.
According to Lopez, selecting the next superintendent through an inclusive community process could take up to a year and the district needs stability as they aim to get all students back to in-person learning and stabilize a budget.
