Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urging her to incorporate the demands concerning Kalyana Karnataka region in the forthcoming Union Budget for 2021-22.

Patil, addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, urged the Union government to take steps for the effective implementation of Article 371(J) of the Constitution accorded to Kalyana Karnataka region and extend reservation benefits in education, employment and basic infrastructure on the lines of Vidharba in Maharashtra. The implementation of schemes under special status for the region was not up to the mark. Even after allocation of huge funds in the last seven years, there was no development, he said.
