Kraniak is outstanding Arts & Letters Division grad | News, Sports, Jobs

May 7, 2021 ESCANABA Each year, Bay College selects an Outstanding Graduate from each of the six divisions at the college. The graduate is selected by their instructors for their academic excellence, leadership and community service. Grace Kraniak was selected as the 2021 Outstanding Graduate for the Arts & Letters Division, with the award being sponsored by Bink’s Coca-Cola Bottling Company, the Bay Faculty Association and the Bay College Foundation. Kraniak started her journey at Bay College in the summer of 2018 and stated, “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to attend college and it was my parents that gave me the motivation to enroll. After taking a few classes, I fell in love with it. My instructors encouraged me to ask questions, join discussions and expanded my perspective. May 4, 2021 ESCANABA Each year, Bay College selects an Outstanding Graduate from each of the six divisions at the college. The graduate is selected by their instructors for their academic excellence, leadership and community service. Rachel Bessonen was selected as the 2021 Outstanding Graduate for the Business Division, with the award being sponsored by Schneider, Larche, Haapala & Company, the Bay College Faculty Association and the Bay College Foundation. A graduate of Escanaba High School, Bessonen earned an Associate in Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Sustainability in November 2020 from Bay College. Rachel stated, “Bay College has helped me develop skills to be a strong student through small class sizes. I was able to form close relationships with instructors and receive additional support when needed. ROCK SPRINGS At the Student Government Association Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 29, Western Wyoming Community College announced two Outstanding Graduates, Mustang Awards, and scholarship recipients for 2020-2021. Western’s Honor Roll will also be published on the website after final grades are submitted.  Western’s Outstanding Graduate is selected by a committee that includes administrators, professionals, faculty, and staff. The nomination criteria and scoring rubric is based on campus involvement, leadership roles, positive impact on other students, and the nominee’s ability to positively represent Western in the future. This year, Western’s committee chose two students for this honor.
