Discovery Channel is entering the dating game with series orders for three shows that blend romance with nature, entertainment and adventure, including “Naked and Afraid of Love,” “Mating Season” and “Mountain Love,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.
The trio of series will be available across Discovery, Inc. platforms later this year.

Today, dating has become filtered – through the clothes we wear, jobs we have, and lives we share on social media. But what if it was all stripped away the filters, dating apps and curated personas leaving room for only our most primal wants and needs, and exposing who we really are in the process? Pig Royalty, produced by Hot Snakes Media.
The series (pictured) dives into the world of pig show competitions and follows the rivalry of two families: the Baleros and the Rihns, who travel across the state competing for prizes including money, scholarships and the coveted “buckles” awarded to winners.
For Hot Snakes Media, Eric Evangelista, Shannon Evangelista, Erik Kesten and Benjamin Ringe are executive producers. For Animal Planet, Erin Wanner is executive producer and Pat Dempsey is supervising producer.
Pig Royalty premieres March 23. The series will also air on Discovery Channel for two weeks beginning March 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

When Amanda Vitti and her fiancé agreed to foster a small, white puppy from the Danbury Animal Welfare Society last fall, they had no idea he might become famous.
But Chip now called Echo is one of 20 Connecticut dogs who will run around the 2021 Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet next month, and the energetic pup will get his five minutes or in this case, two hours of fame.
