The 7th Annual Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards is now open for entries! This year, prizes include street exhibitions in NYC and LA, gallery shows in Paris and Berlin, inclusion in the Feature Shoot Emerging Photographers book, and more. 2021’s submitting photographers will also have the chance to have their work seen by our judging panel, composed of internationally renowned voices within the industry.

A new ice cream parlor has officially opened its doors in Westchester County.
Ice Cream Social opened in White Plains on Monday, July 5. The shop is located at 481 Mamaroneck Ave. The point of Ice Cream Social is to help create the kind of city we want to live in, said Erin O Keefe, who opened up the shop with Pam Geiger. We are White Plains natives and love White Plains, and this is our way of giving back to the community, as we re hoping this will be a community-oriented space for friends, family, parents and kids to enjoy.

Two new ice cream shops both women-owned have opened in Westchester, just in time for summer s heat. Ice Cream Social opened July 5 in White Plains while Sweet Treats by Teresa s opened July 11 in Tuckahoe.
Here s the scoop (pun intended):
In July 2019, White Plains resident Pam Geiger was looking for something to do with her then 3-year-old son. She texted her friend Erin O Keefe, another White Plains native she s known since middle school, with the message: “I wish there was an ice cream parlor in White Plains. Not just in a mall.”
