The lunch, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA at the State Reception Centre in Kings Park, was part of Mr Morrison’s first visit to the state since October 2019.

Don t wait for government to sack sex pests

Don’t wait for government to sack sex pests: CEOs Save Share Evolution Mining executive chairman Jake Klein says any company that is relying on government policy changes to sack “sex pests” has the wrong culture, as a number of leading chief executives urged staff to report sexual harassment. The comments and company emails followed Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s response this week to the year-old Respect@Work report by Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins. New legislation is expected to be introduced by June. Mr Klein, whose company has a market capitalisation of $7.7 billion, made the comment as the debate intensified about whether the government should go further than the 55 proposed changes. The Australian Chamber of Commerce is pushing for legislative change to make it easier to sack sexual harassers, though this is being opposed by unions.
