Final Oscars predictions 2021: Who will win and who should win?

It s all come down to this. The longest awards season is drawing to a close, after an excruciating pandemic year that nearly destroyed the movie business. History looks to be made at the Oscars, with women and people of colour getting recognition but there s also room for a surprise or two.
In the winners tally,
Ma Rainey s Black Bottom with three including Chadwick Boseman.
Netflix is presumed to be the leading studio with a predicted six wins, an increase from last year s tally of four. The good news is that the streaming giant has a 50/50 shot in four additional races, which could bring them to a double-digit tally, which would be a record in the modern era (Metro-Goldwyn Mayer dominated the 1930s and 1940s).

True to form, this year’s batch of live-action nominees offer hard-hitting depictions of urgent social issues from around the globe, presenting an appealingly diverse array of subjects in the process.
Despite the potential for grimness, the deft tonal switch-footing from the filmmakers ensures a glint of hope emanates from the majority of the selections, most of which would be worthy winners on Oscar night.

While the nominees for the 93rd annual Academy Awards were unveiled a month ago and the event is coming up on Sunday, there is still time to see some major titles you may have missed.
Leading the nominees this year is
Mank, which received 10 nods including best picture, best director for David Fincher, best actor for Gary Oldman and best actress for Amanda Seyfried.

Oscars 2021 are almost upon us. They’re this Sunday night, April 25th to be exact! Given the extended eligibility period and long delay for the ceremony we’ve all had (theoretically) more time to catch up with the nominated films. But wanting to keep up and keeping up are two different things. Especially since the movies didn’t feel quite so special when there wasn’t the act of leaving the house to see them. Now they’re all like TV series only shorter.

The Oscars are upon us once again - but change surrounds this year s ceremony that goes far beyond the red carpet adjustments enforced by the pandemic.
Best picture contender Sound of Metal, about a drummer facing hearing loss, saw best actor nominee Riz Ahmed learn sign language for the role. His co-star Paul Raci, who is up for best supporting actor, is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and many of the other actors are deaf in real life.
