Chadwick Boseman made history at tonight’s Golden Globes, becoming the first Black actor to win a posthumous Golden Globe. The actor won the award for Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama for his role in
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. It was his last role before his death.

His wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on his behalf, giving a moving speech:
“He would’ve thanked God, he would’ve thanked his parents, he would’ve thanked his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would’ve thanked his incredible team. Rupert Neve, a pioneering designer of audio recording equipment that revolutionized the industry, has died, according to a statement on his company’s website. He was 94.
As reported on his website, Neve died on Feb. 12 in Wimberley, Texas from “non-COVID pneumonia and heart failure.”
Often credited as “the man who made the recording console,” Neve is best known for designing and producing microphone preamplifiers, equalizers, compressors and mixing consoles that are sought after in the industry. His designs are staples everywhere from large production facilities to home studios, and have even been reproduced as computer plug-ins to ....

HISTORY: A snowstorm during an epidemic 100 years ago


CHARLESTOWN – The worsening epidemic of Influenza had reached inside the Shannock home of 35-year-old Robert Browning. He and his wife Sarah (Card) had fallen ill along with their two children; 8-year-old Robert and eight-month-old Evelyn. Outside their door, a blizzard raged and all they could do was lay helplessly bedridden, listening to the violent winds.
The storm had begun early that morning, Feb. 5, 1920. Heavy snow dumped down from the sky as 30-mile-per-hour gusts whipped the flakes into towering drifts that blocked roads. The mailman had attempted to fulfill his duties, shoveling a path for his horses as he went along through town but it was a hopeless pursuit and the mail would end up being delayed for days. ....
