Since there is apparently nothing better for politicians to do than try to implement a nationwide Ministry of Truth for the masses, this letter from Eshoo and McNerney is making the rounds, trying to pressure media platforms to censor certain media content mounts.

AT&T is ditching its sponsored data service for some of its video streaming apps as a result of California s net neutrality law, which prohibits operators from favoring their own services and content over competitors offerings.
AT&T said in a blog post Wednesday that the state law bans sponsored data services, otherwise known as zero-rated plans. AT&T expands 5G to all on older unlimited wireless plans

AT&T has said that beginning this month it will expand 5G and 5G+ service to all of its customers on unlimited wireless plans at no extra cost. According to the firm, it’s “showing appreciation” to long-term customers that are on a previous generation of unlimited plans by expanding the 5G service to their accounts at no extra cost.

T-Mobile laid out some bold plans regarding the expansion of its 5G network during avirtual event with analysts today.

According to The Verge, those plans include covering 90% of Americans (roughly 300 million people) with faster mid-band and mmWave service by the end of 2023, and 97% with slower low-band 5G by the end of 2022. Currently, 125 million T-Mobile customers are covered by its Ultra Capacity plan, which includes mid-band and mmWave, and 287 million are covered by its Extended Range plan, or low-band 5G plan.
Those who are already on T-Mobile’s Ultra Capacity plan will see their speeds increase from 300 Mbps up to 400 Mbps this year, thanks in part to the spectrum T-Mobile acquired when it merged with Sprint. But the mobile carrier is about to acquire more spectrum from the FCC’s recent C-band auction.
