Roofs blown off as storm lashes Ipoh village, more than 300 families affected

IPOH: A freak storm on Wednesday (April 14) left a trail of destruction in its wake after it ripped through a village here, affecting more than 300 families. The turbulent winds and downpour tore the roofs off more than 100 houses, causing severe leakage and floods at Kampung Tasek during the 3pm incident. At some of the houses which were more severely damaged, the walls collapsed as well, but luckily no injuries were reported due to falling debris. However, a man in his 30s suffered electric shocks when he tried to remove a zinc sheet that had fallen from his house roof. He is receiving treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
