Chism Credits INFB Members for New Horizon Award at FB Annual Convention

Indiana Farm Bureau was presented with a New Horizon Award in the best new program category by the American Farm Bureau Federation at the virtual AFBF Convention for their implementation of Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans.
INFB Second Vice President Isabella Chism says she can’t think of a better way to acknowledge the work of their members.
“Although some of the planning, strategy, and listening behind the scenes was fully staff-reliant, the work would not have been done without our members. Had our members not shown up at the statehouse, had not called their representatives, we wouldn’t be here.” ....

Indiana Farm Bureau Receives New Horizon Award At 2021 AFBF Virtual Convention

Indiana Farm Bureau was presented with a New Horizon Award in the best new program category by the American Farm Bureau Federation at the AFBF Convention, which is being held virtually through January 13.
The New Horizon Award is presented to state Farm Bureaus with the most innovative programs, and to recognize excellence in the implementation of outstanding member programs and membership achievements.
According to AFBF, the New Horizon Award was presented to INFB for its incredible effort to offer health care plans as member benefits and to offer members and their families with better health care options at affordable prices. AFBF noted that in order to offer the health plans, INFB had to ask the Indiana State Legislature to change state law. ....

Each year at the Indiana Farm Bureau convention, the organization s president reflects on the year that s passed and discusses his vision for the future of the organization with members from across the state.
This year, INFB s convention was drastically different. Due to COVID-19, INFB made the difficult decision to take this year s convention virtual.
No one enjoys state convention more than I do. It s an opportunity for me to reconnect with our long-time friends and members and get to know our new ones, said Randy Kron, INFB president. So, cancelling the in-person state convention wasn t an easy decision, but it was made because it s in the best interest of our members and Farm Bureau staff. ....

Kron Gives Annual Address During Indiana Farm Bureau Virtual Convention

The Indiana Farm Bureau Annual Convention took place over the weekend, but not in Fort Wayne as was originally planned. INFB President Randy Kron gave his presidential address virtually this year and touted their biggest accomplishment from 2020: healthcare.
“Two years ago, at our state convention in Fort Wayne, I made a promise to you – that we would do our best to answer the need of so many of our members – to provide them with more affordable, reliable health care,” Kron said during his annual address. “After spending 18 months researching and drafting legislation, the bill finally passed in March. Using all the resources of the Farm Bureau family to deliver on our promise to you, we formed Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans.” ....
