Proton’s salvo of four special edition models today rounds off with the 2021 Exora Black Edition, which joins the Saga R3 Limited Edition, Iriz R3 Limited Edition and Persona Black Edition in making their debut via a virtual launch.
Like the others, the Exora Black Edition is a limited production run, with only 500 examples available. The edition, which is based on the Exora RC that was launched in 2019, is priced at
RM67,800 on-the-road without insurance, but with sales tax exemption until June 30, which makes it RM3,000 more than the Premium variant (RM64,800). The price will increase by RM2k to RM69,800 when the tax is reintroduced on July 1.

Continuing with the barrage of Proton special edition models being launched today, the Persona Black Edition is a relatively subdued version of the affordable B-segment sedan, limited to just 500 units. As the name suggests, the inky hue is the name of the game here, set off by some contrasting gold accents.
Based on the range-topping 1.6 Premium CVT variant, the Black Edition is priced at
RM54,700 on-the-road without insurance, RM1,000 more than the standard model. That’s with the sales and service tax (SST) exemption – when the tax is reintroduced on July 1, pricing will go up by RM900 to RM55,600. As usual, the car is covered by a five-year/150,000 km warranty.
Together with the Saga and Iriz R3 Limited Edition models, Proton has also launched the Persona and Exora Black Edition. Now these two are slightly less exciting, no yellow bits, no new body kit or […]

There is a solid appetite for Proton’s special edition models, judging by last year’s arrival of the Proton Saga Anniversary Edition that was launched for the first national car’s 35th birthday. All 1,100 units of the Anniversary Edition found homes in just five days, and now Proton looks to meet that demand with a quartet of special edition models, among them the Saga R3 Limited Edition we have here.
Of the four special editions launched today, including the Persona Black Edition and Exora Black Edition, this is one of two R3 limited edition models that celebrate the national automaker’s successful motorsports division – the other being the Proton Iriz R3 Limited Edition. Limited to 2,000 units, the Saga R3 Limited Edition wears an exterior that most resembles that of the Anniversary Edition fitted with the optional bodykit, starting with black exterior paint punctuated by contrasting yellow elements.

Race Rally Research (R3) is back! Well, sort of. After months of spy shots and teasers, Proton has finally launched the Proton Iriz R3 Limited Edition alongside three other models – the Saga R3 Limited Edition, as well as the Exora and Persona Black Edition models. Just 500 units of the Iriz R3 (based on the top Iriz 1.6 Premium CVT) will be made, and it is priced at
RM52,900.
Let’s start with the exterior. Like the rest of today’s debutants, the Iriz R3 is finished in Quartz Black, making it stand out (black is not part of the regular colour palette). You’ll also find a three-piece R3 body kit (front lip and side skirts) complete with yellow accents, and the same highlights can be found on the front grille, top headlight garnish, side mirror caps and rear wing.
