A disabled veteran is distraught tonight after someone stole his walking stick from a Tulsa gas station. The walking stick has very distinct Native American carvings on it and it s a family heirloom.
Robert Van Fleet said he stopped to get gas at the QuikTrip near 71st and Riverside Monday afternoon when he was on his way to Tulsa Hills.
He said he leaned the walking staff against his car while filling up, and when he got back in his car, he noticed it was gone. It’s a part of me,” said Van Fleet. “It s like losing a limb.

WESTMINSTER, Calif. (KABC) A suspect ran inside a Walmart in Westminster in an attempt to escape law enforcement after a chase that started in Riverside Monday night.
The driver, who Riverside police said changed clothes while inside the Walmart, was taken into custody after running out of the store.
AIR7 HD was over the chase at around 10:40 p.m. as the suspect driving a Mercedes-Benz was traveling on the 91 Freeway.
The driver exited onto Beach Boulevard in Buena Park a short time later and made a U-turn at Orangethorpe Avenue and traveled southbound on Beach Boulevard through Anaheim and into Westminster.

A Wading River woman reported being scammed out of $4,200 last Wednesday, according to police. Additional information was not available.
• Two people stole about $2,622 of merchandise from Walgreens on Route 58, according to police, who said the theft occurred on Jan. 10 but was reported on Jan. 12.
• About $2,250 worth of merchandise was reported stolen from the Sunglass Hut store at Tanger Outlets Monday night, according to police.
• A Riverhead man reported being scammed out of $500 worth of gift cards last Tuesday, according to police.
• Three televisions, valued at a combined $426, were reported stolen from Walmart on Route 58 Saturday night.
